The short version: I only collect your email address when you choose to give it. I use it to send you updates about home renovation, panelling, and itsmatchoo content. I don't sell your data. Ever. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
Who I am

What data I collect and why
I collect the following personal data:
- Email address — collected when you unlock the free panelling calculator or sign up via any form on this site. Used to send you emails about home renovation, panelling content, product updates, and itsmatchoo news.
- Analytics data — collected automatically via Google Analytics (GA4). This includes pages visited, time on site, device type, and general location (country/city level). This data is anonymous and aggregated — I cannot identify you from it.
I do not collect sensitive personal data such as financial information, government IDs, or health data.
The legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR, I process your data on the following bases:
- Consent — when you submit your email to unlock the calculator or sign up to my list, you are giving explicit consent to receive emails from itsmatchoo. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics data collected via Google Analytics, used to understand how people use this site so I can improve it.
How I store and use your data
Your email address is stored securely with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), my email marketing provider. Kit is GDPR-compliant and stores data on servers in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. You can read Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
Analytics data is processed by Google Analytics. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties beyond the service providers listed above.
How long I keep your data
I retain your email address for as long as you are subscribed to the itsmatchoo mailing list. If you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from active lists. You can request full deletion at any time by emailing hello@itsmatchoo.com.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
Cookies
This site uses the following cookies and local storage:
- Google Analytics cookies — used to measure site usage anonymously. These are set automatically when you visit the site.
- itsmatchoo_unlocked (localStorage) — a local flag stored in your browser to remember that you've already unlocked the panelling calculator, so you don't have to enter your email again on return visits. This data never leaves your device.
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — you can request a copy of the data I hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask me to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — you can ask me to delete your data at any time.
- Right to withdraw consent — you can unsubscribe from emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting me directly.
- Right to complain — if you believe your data has been mishandled, you can lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
